Former Jets running back Zac Stacy is being accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend in front of their 5-month-old child.
The alleged incident occurred on Saturday at the home of Stacy’s ex-girlfriend, according to TMZ Sports, who obtained video of the altercation recorded inside of her home. Stacy allegedly punched her multiple times and threw her across the room into a TV, which subsequently fell on top of her. Stacy then stood over her and threw an object at her before allegedly slamming her into the child’s bouncy seat.
Police were immediately called to the scene, but Stacy fled before they arrived. The woman said she was treated at a hospital for her injuries and had filed a restraining order against Stacy.
“He punched me several times in the head! I begged him to stop because the baby was on the couch just a few feet from where he punched me,” she said in the restraining order, which was obtained by TMZ. “I fear for my life and my children’s lives.”
Stacy was drafted by the Rams in 2013 out of Vanderbilt and spent two seasons in St. Louis. He requested a trade after the Rams drafted Todd Gurley in 2015 and was dealt to the Jets for a seventh-round pick.
Stacy appeared in eight games with the Jets in 2015. He has been out of the NFL since that season and most recently played for the Memphis Express of the now-defunct Alliance of American Football.
