Braden Holtby makes it through Canadian border with two tortoises originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
The Holtby family promised to let everyone know once they had managed to get their pet tortoises safely across the U.S.-Canada border, and now they have.
One day after turning to Twitter to try to help their cause after running into roadblocks with authorities over the pets, Brandi Holtby - the wife of longtime Capitals goaltender Braden Holtby - shared some good news with their fans.
Welcome to Canada, Honey and Maple! 🇨🇦 Huge shout out to @USFWS for working so hard for us! Thank you for everyone’s concern.. NOW you may laugh at the image of Braden being stuck at the border with a tortoise under each arm. 🐢👨🏽🌾🐢

No need to worry anymore. Honey and Maple are safe!
While the two were obviously frustrated and concerned in the middle of their plight, Brandi confirms that it is now acceptable to "laugh at the image of Braden being stuck at the border with a tortoise under each arm."
It does sound hilarious, but of course, the most important thing is the Holtby family reuniting once more.
Holtby signed a two-year deal with Vancouver in October.
