Brian Daboll, a former Alabama football assistant under Nick Saban, will be the next coach of the New York Giants, the Giants announced on Friday.

Daboll spent most of his career in the NFL, but spent three seasons under Nick Saban. Two came during Saban's time as Michigan State from 1998-99 and the third came at Alabama. Daboll replaced Lane Kiffin as Alabama's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2017, when Kiffin departed for Florida Atlantic.

In his lone season at Alabama, Daboll helped lead an offense led by Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa to a national championship win over Georgia.

In his NFL career, Daboll has served as an assistant for the New England Patriots, New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins and, most recently, the Buffalo Bills. He won five Super Bowls as an assistant in New England.
