Former Alabama cornerback Trey Amos commits to Ole Miss

Jan. 19—OXFORD — Former Alabama defensive back Trey Amos has committed to Ole Miss, On3Sports' Hayes Fawcett reported Friday. Amos is rated as a four-star transfer, according to 247Sports. He is the third transfer portal defensive back to commit to the Rebels in recent days, as former Michigan cornerback Amorion Walker announced his intention to join the program Wednesday and former Alabama and Tennessee defensive back Brandon Turnage announced his intentions earlier Friday. The Rebels currently have the top-ranked transfer portal class,per 247Sports.

Listed at 6-foot-1, 197 pounds, Amos began his career at Louisiana, where he played in 34 games over three seasons and made 59 tackles and intercepted a pass. He had a career-best eight passes defended in 2022 with the Ragin' Cajuns. Amos started one game for the Crimson Tide in 2023 and finished the season with 12 tackles and five passes defended in 14 games overall.

Ole Miss will lose 2023 starting cornerbacks Deantre Prince and Zamari Walton as well as fellow senior DeShawn Gaddie. The Rebels return Chris Graves, who started against Georgia and made 13 tackles overall in 2023.
