FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Kings wallop Wildcats

Sep. 25—Lewis Cass drubbed Whitko 52-6 Friday night at Owens Memorial Field.

The Kings (3-3, 3-2 TRC) continued their trend of winning blowout games every other week at home against a conference opponent, this time the struggling Wildcats (1-5, 0-5).

It was a night of big plays on offense for the Kings. Cooper Frey had 172 yards rushing and three touchdowns on just five carries. LJ Hillis had 84 yards and a TD on just three attempts. He added a 22-yard pass to Wyatt Loos.

Trevor Rowe had 61 yards and two TDs on three carries. Gavin Smith had two carries for 54 yards. Luke Sparks added 18 yards and a TD on two attempts.

Cass led 46-6 at halftime and had a running clock for the entire second half.

Cass travels to Maconaquah (4-2, 4-1) on Friday.

N. WHITE 14, CASTON 6

Caston (0-6) played Class A No. 12 North White (6-0) tough in Monon.

The Comets were within 6-0 at halftime and tied the game on a Grant Yadon 1-yard TD run with four minutes left in the third quarter.

The Vikings answered with a touchdown drive of their own to end the third quarter and added a 2-point conversion run. The Comets were driving at the end of the game before the Vikings recorded an interception to hold on for the win.

Yadon finished with 58 yards rushing on 13 carries to lead the Comets. He was 6-of-12 passing for 36 yards. Gavin Mollenkopf had two catches for 22 yards.

Kyle Roudebush had 11 tackles to lead the defense. Levi Martin had 10 tackles and Jabez Yarber had eight tackles and an interception.

Eli Quasebarth rushed for 103 yards on 25 carries for the Vikings. He was 4-of-8 passing for 64 yards and a TD. CJ Hunt had 19 carries for 87 yards and a TD. Chantz McCutchen had two catches for 52 yards and a TD.

Caston hosts Culver for homecoming Friday.

WINAMAC 45, CULVER 14

Winamac (1-5, 1-4 HNAC) broke through with its first win of the season against Culver (0-6, 0-4) on homecoming night at Roudebush Field.

Jadon Jones had 132 yards rushing and two TDs on 13 carries for the Warriors. Maddox Bucinski ran for 111 yards and a TD on 23 carries. Addison Allen had 35 yards and a TD on four carries. Talen Garner added 30 yards and a TD on five attempts.

Cash Roth was 6-of-9 passing for 102 yards and a TD. Jones had two catches for 50 yards and a TD.

Allen and Tearson Wolford led the defense with nine tackles each. Tucker Fox was credited with a safety.

Winamac outgained Culver 422-123 in total yardage.

Winamac travels to West Central (6-0) Friday.

CARROLL 42, TC 0

Class A No. 3-ranked Carroll continued its dominant play with a 42-0 shutout of Tri-Central in an HHC game at Flora.

The Cougars led 21-0 after the first quarter and 35-0 at halftime. The second half featured a running clock under the IHSAA's mercy rule. The Cougars added a TD in the third quarter for a 42-0 lead and that score held the rest of the way as Carroll posted its fourth shutout of the season.

Carroll is averaging 51.8 points per game and holding opponents to a scant 2.3.

Carroll (6-0, 4-0 HHC) hosts Clinton Central next Friday. Tri-Central (1-5, 0-4) hosts Eastern.
