FOOTBALL: Dibble continues to make noise during streak

Oct. 23—The Dibble Demons have been making noise in their district.

Coming off of a 40-20 win over Stratford last week, Dibble has won its last six games to get to 6-2 on the season. But five of the wins during Dibble's streak have come in district play and have given the Demons a 5-0 record in District A-4 this season.

Dibble has outscored its district opponents 278-43 this season.

Before Dibble's win over Stratford, both teams entered the game as the only two teams without an A-4 loss this season. And the Demons came out on top.

Dibble now sits alone at the top of the District A-4 standings and is getting close to locking up the top spot from the district. The Demons host Wayne this week.

A win over Wayne would give the Demons a 6-0 record in district play and would lock up the top spot in the district, even if one of the two teams with one-loss district records ended up matching Dibble's district record at the end of the regular season.

Even if Dibble split its final two games of the season and finished the season with one district loss, the Demons would have a head-to-head advantage over either of the two teams that can possibly also go 6-1 in the district.

Dibble and Ringling or Dibble and Stratford could end up with the same district record, but the Demons beat both and own the tiebreaker.

Of course, the Demons hope to win their last two games against teams with a combined three wins this season.
