Flyers unveil new feature of the Wells Fargo Center: A rage room

If you’ve ever want to break everything in sight after a bad break in a hockey game, the Philadelphia Flyers might have the answer for you.

Weeks after unveiling the Assembly Room, a swanky-looking club inside the Wells Fargo Center named after the room in Philly’s historic Independence Hall, the Flyers revealed that there’s another feature hidden behind “an unassuming library wall.”

It is called the Disassembly Room. You break things in it.

According to the Flyers, the Disassembly Room is the first “rage room” inside a major professional sports arena.

Fans can buy tickets for the room in advance, don protective gear and smash televisions, dishes and whatever else to their heart’s content with a bat or sledgehammer. The Flyers said the items to be broken might even bear the logo of an opposing team.

Currently, the Flyers’ site allows reservations to be made for three pregame slots, first intermission, second intermission and postgame. So no just going there after the Flyers allow a goal. The prices are running at $35 for a solo ticket and $60 for two.

"The concept is definitely one-of-a-kind and non-traditional," said Valerie Camillo, President of Business Operations of Philadelphia Flyers and the Wells Fargo Center. "We ran the concept by some of our fans who told us they thought this would be a fresh way to have some harmless fun. I had never heard of a rage room before the design team pitched the idea. Now, I can't wait to get in there and take a few whacks."

Sounds like something that’s perfect for Philadelphia fans. Count the whole idea yet another way the Flyers have embraced the Gritty energy.
