Flyers' long season reaches penultimate game and final trip originally appeared on NBC Sports Philadelphia
The Flyers (25-44-11) play the final road game of a highly disappointing 2021-22 season Wednesday when they visit the Jets (36-32-11).
Let's get into the essentials for Game 81 of 82:
When: 7:30 p.m. ET with The Warm Up at 6:30 p.m. ET and Flyers Pregame Live at 6:45 p.m. ET
Where: Canada Life Centre
Broadcast: NBC Sports Philadelphia
Live stream: NBCSportsPhiladelphia.com and the NBC Sports MyTeams app
• It has been a dreadful year for the Flyers and the road woes have not helped.
The Flyers are 11-24-5 away from home. The 1991-92 Flyers recorded the franchise's most-ever road defeats in one season with 26. That club went 10-26-4 on the road and 22-11-7 at home.
The 2021-22 Flyers have scored the NHL's second-fewest goals per game on the road with 2.40.
• The last time the Flyers played in Winnipeg, Manitoba was Dec. 15, 2019.
It was the 33rd game of Alain Vigneault's first season. The Flyers lost, 7-3.
Joel Farabee, just a 19-year-old rookie at the time, was given a game misconduct for a late hit and later received a three-game suspension from the NHL Department of Player Safety.
Vigneault was flabbergasted by the suspension.
• Travis Konecny is on a six-game point streak in which he has recorded three goals and four assists.
With the injury to Cam Atkinson, Konecny will finish as the Flyers' leading scorer. Right now, he's at a team-leading 52 points (16 goals, 36 assists) through 77 games.
