Today's second regional semifinal game features the Florida State Seminoles and the top-seeded Michigan Wolverines.
#4 Florida State vs. #1 Michigan Wolverines (-2) Total:143
The Florida State Seminoles qualified for the Sweet 16 by knocking off UNC-Greensboro and the Colorado Buffaloes, with both wins coming by double-digit margins. The Seminoles shot over 50% from the field vs. Colorado, but did not hit a single three-pointer in the game vs. UNC-Greensboro.
The top-seeded Wolverines were losers of three of their final five games before entering the tournament. Victories over Texas Southern University and the LSU Tigers, however, have the Wolverines back on track and two wins away from a Final Four birth.
Michigan opened up this game as a 3-point favorite and currently, PointsBet has The Wolverines as a 2-point favorite. For the Money Line, it also opened up in favor of Michigan at -153. That price then dropped to -130, but has since started to creep back up and is currently as high as -145 in some shops. That late movement could indicate sharp money hitting the Wolverines, and I can see this number closing at Michigan -2.5.
For the majority of the season, The Wolverines have been one of the nation's top teams, but my issue with them has been their struggles against others of their ilk. Late-season losses to Ohio State, Michigan State and Illinois are all causes for concern.
