Florida offers tight end committed to Tulane

Jeanerette Senior (Louisiana) tight end Traville Frederick Jr. has been committed to the Tulane Green Wave since March, but things might be changing now that the Florida Gators have offered him a scholarship.

Frederick announced the news on Wednesday through social media, but he remains pledged to Tulane for now. Defensive backs coach Corey Raymond is the area recruiter and paid a visit to Jeanerette Senior before extending the offer to Frederick, according to Swamp247.

While he’s not totally familiar with Florida’s offensive scheme, he’s noticed that Billy Napier likes to use more than one tight end fairly often and in a variety of ways. Frederick says that he likes teams that always have their tight ends doing something.

Getting to the Swamp is the natural next step for Frederick. He’s thinking that an unofficial visit should come before locking in an official one. Alabama and Tulane are the only two programs he’s certain are getting official visits right now.

“Florida is a good opportunity,” Frederick said. “Knowing Coach Billy Napier came all this way to find me here. They had the trust to offer me, so that means a lot to me. I am keeping an eye on Florida and Alabama still. I am going to keep tabs on Florida for sure.”

Frederick is ranked No. 937 overall among class of 2024 recruits on the 247Sports composite. He’s No. 38 among tight ends in the class.
