Florida moves up in ESPN’s BPI rankings after road win over LSU

Todd Golden’s Gators won their second-straight game on Tuesday night and it could not have come at a better time. After starting the season with an underwhelming 7-5 record while also dropping the first two games of its Southeastern Conference schedule, it seems that Florida basketball is finally finding its groove now that it has two SEC wins under its belt.

Following the victory in Baton Rouge, the Gators saw a modest improvement in their Basket Power Index per ESPN, moving up from No. 42 prior to the game to No. 37. LSU, on the other hand, fell to No. 80 after being ranked No. 72 ahead of the game.

Next up for the Orange and Blue are the No. 20 Missouri Tigers (No. 62 BPI) who travel to Gainesville on Saturday, Jan. 14, for an afternoon tangle in the O’Connell Center. Tipoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. EST and the game will be broadcast on the SEC Network as well as the Gators IMG Sports Network.
