Florida baseball No. 4 in Perfect Game Preseason Rankings

After finishing as the runner-up in the 2023 College World Series, the Florida Gators opened the 2024 season as the No. 4 team in the country.

Perfect Game, “the world’s largest most comprehensive scouting organization,” ranked Florida behind Wake Forest, Arkansas and LSU on the preseason list.

The Tigers beat the Gators in the CWS finals, and the Demon Deacons also made it to Omaha in 2023. The Razorbacks have reloaded after coming up short in the Fayetteville Regional last year. Florida will face both SEC teams ranked above it on the road this season — Mar. 22-24 at LSU and April 26-28 at Arkansas.

Florida returns a good amount of talent from its dominant 2023 club, but some of the biggest pieces on both sides of the ball have moved on. If the transfers and freshmen can step into those roles somewhat seamlessly, Florida has a chance to finish the year ranked in one of the three spots ahead of its preseason placement.
