Flames' Brodie to play 1st game since collapsing during practice
The Calgary Flames will have defenceman T.J. Brodie back in the lineup on Monday for the first time since he collapsed on the ice during practice.
The team announced on Monday that Brodie was in the starting lineup and that he’ll play alongside Flames captain Mark Giordano in a road matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Brodie was sent to the hospital on Nov. 14 after collapsing during practice. He was discharged from the hospital later that day.
The 29-year-old returned to practice for the club on Sunday for the first time since the incident.

While Brodie was absent from the lineup, Calgary won just one of its five games. His return has already made a difference in the team’s locker room, according to Matthew Tkachuk.
“It’s been a tough past week and half for him and us,” Tkachuk said. “Happy for him, happy for his family, and for us to have him back its a huge part of our team and he’s definitely going to help.”
"It's been a tough past week and half for him and us ... for him to be around now, it's a jolt of energy."
