MARSHFIELD − Five Below has set its opening date, and shoppers don't have to wait much longer.

A spokesperson for the company confirmed to the Marshfield News-Herald Tuesday that the new store will open at 10 a.m. July 7 in the former Younkers space of the redeveloped Marshfield Mall at 503 E. Ives St.

According to its website, Five Below is the leading value retailer of "trend-right, high-quality products loved by tweens, teens and beyond." Most items in the store are priced between $1 and $5. Shoppers can find a variety of toys, games, gadgets, tech accessories, beauty supplies, arts and crafts, sports, home décor, household items, pet supplies, candy, snacks, books, party supplies and more.

Store hours will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

A website for the local Five Below location still lists a June 16 opening date, but the spokesperson verified that date is incorrect.

Founded in 2002 and headquartered in Philadelphia, Five Below has over 1,300 stores in 44 states, including 23 stores in Wisconsin.

Five Below also will be opening as part of redevelopment projects at the Dunham's Sports site on U.S. 10 East in Stevens Point and the former Wisconsin Rapids Shopko building.

Ned Brickman, president of Midland Management, the co-owner of the mall, told the News-Herald early this year the redevelopment project will be complete this fall. It will use the existing mall structure to create space for three national retail stores, which will each have their own exterior entrances.

Hobby Lobby confirmed to the News-Herald in February they would be moving into the Marshfield Mall and said they anticipate opening in early 2024. Ross Dress for Less also told the News-Herald in February they have signed a lease for the Marshfield location, but it is too early to announce an opening date. A spokesperson for Ross said she expects to have more information in June.

Anchor stores Ashley Furniture, Kohl's and Harbor Freight will remain open. World Buffet reopened April 1 in its new location across from Ashley Furniture.
