Stanford is not one of those programs that sends out 30 offers in a day, but typically camp week produces several and the first reported is to 2019 Jonathan McGill.

The Coppell Texas cornerback camped at Stanford Tuesday and tweeted the news of the offer Wednesday while still visiting The Farm.

Clearly the offer had the young man excited and it's not every recruit who gets to include a photo with Solomon Thomas in an offer announcement tweet. McGill goes to the same high school that Thomas attended on his way to being a five-star recruit who signed with Stanford.

It appears the two know each other beyond that given that Solomon's mother, Martha, joined the long list of people sharing their congratulations on Twitter.

Cardinal Sports Report will have more information about McGill's offer and his reaction as soon as possible.

McGill reports offers from SMU and Nevada. Rivals recruiting analyst Nick Krueger had this to say about McGill on April 11:

"McGill is a young prospect that many in the Dallas area are excited about. This time a year ago he was a participant in the Rivals Camp Series as an offensive athlete, and has transitioned to the defensive side of the ball this spring with positive results."

According to Coppell High's Maxpreps stats McGill had 76 tackles and seven interceptions last year for the 10-3 Cowboys. He had 55 tackles as a freshman.

And the most important stamp of approval is that McGill camped in front of Stanford defensive backs coach Duane Akina and is leaving the Bay Area with an offer.
