First look at Andrew Benintendi with Royals originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston

The sight of Andrew Benintendi in Royals Blue will take some getting used to.

The former Boston Red Sox outfielder, who was traded to Kansas City in a three-team deal last week, is in Arizona with his new team for spring training. The Royals highlighted their recent addition on Twitter, and it's an odd sight for Red Sox fans.

Benintendi struggled mightily with Boston in 2020. The 26-year-old hit just .103 through 14 games before suffering a season-ending rib injury. Despite the down year, Benintendi is a prime bounce-back candidate for a Royals team that made several notable additions to its roster this offseason.

The Red Sox acquired outfielder Franchy Cordero, right-hander Josh Winckowski, and three players to be named later in the Benintendi deal. Sox fans will have to wait for Cordero's grand arrival to Fort Myers as the newcomer was placed on the COVID-19 injured list on Monday.
