First Half Recap: Arkansas leads Texas A&M 38-25 in SEC Tournament

Arkansas leads Texas A&M 38-25 at halftime in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals behind some hot shooting and a stellar defensive performance. Jordan Walsh banked in a three at the buzzer to give the Razorbacks their 13-point lead.

After hitting the game-winning baseline jumper to lift the Razorbacks over Auburn last night, Nick Smith Jr. continued his hot streak against the Aggies – knocking down two back-to-back 3-pointers to get things started. Smith has yet to get cold as he’s got 13 of Arkansas’ 31 first half points.

Arkansas was up by as much as 12 in the first half before the Aggies began to make a run. To the Razorbacks’ credit they shut the Aggies down and were able to extend their lead again before the half.

Texas A&M isn’t shooting well but they are having success on the glass. They’re outrebounding Arkansas 19-11 in total rebounds and 11-3 on the offensive glass.

The Razorbacks are owning the Aggies in the paint on the defensive end as they finished the first half with NINE blocked shots. Texas A&M has just been able to block one Arkansas shot through the first 20 minutes.

Texas A&M’s leading scorer so far is Tyrece Radford who has 8 points and Dexter Dennis who has just 5 points on 2-7 shooting.

Nick Smith Jr. is leading the Hogs with 13 points on 5-10 shooting (2-4 on 3-pointers). Anthony Black is stuffing the statsheet yet again with 7 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 blocked shots.
