Final Evo 2017 game is Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, will be featured on main stage

After two weeks of voting, the ninth game for Evo 2017 has been decided.

In the lead with $71,690 of donations, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 has taken the top spot. The game’s grand final will be featured on the main stage on the last day of Evo, which will also host the finals for the Street Fighter V, Tekken 7, Super Smash Bros. Wii U, and BlazBlue: Central Fiction tournaments.

The full results from the vote are as follows:

  • Pokken Tournament ($66,906)

  • Killer Instinct ($6,116)

  • Windjammers ($4,000)

  • ARMS ($1,337)

  • Skullgirls ($920)

  • Super SFII Turbo ($831)

  • Nidhogg ($158)

  • Mortal Kombat XL ($137)

Votes were counted per the value of the donations received. Evo organizer Joey “MrWizard” Cuellar confirmed that all proceeds would go towards the Make-A-Wish International charity.  

This marks the second time Evo has used a donation drive format to decide its final game tournament. UMVC 3 joins Street Fighter V, Guilty Gear Xrd: Rev 2 (PS4), Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Super Smash. Bros Melee, Injustice 2, BlazBlue: Centralfiction, Tekken 7, and King of Fighters XIV at Evo 2017.

Evo 2017 will take place on July 14-16 at the Mandalay Bay in Vegas. The event was previously hosted at the Las Vegas Convention Center in its first two days, with finals day moving to the Mandalay Bay Events Center.
