Fightin Maidens grind out 55-46 win over Palestine

Jan. 17—PALESTINE — Jacksonville downed Palestine, 55-46, Wednesday evening in Palestine in District 18-4A action.

The victory enabled the Maidens (21-8, 4-0) to stay tied at the top of the conference standings, where No. 17-ranked Madisonville is also 4-0 in conference games. The Lady Mustangs stormed past Bullard, 60-29, Wednesday evening.

Jacksonville will close the book on the first round of district play by hosting Madisonville (21-4 overall) at 6:15 p.m. Friday.

Palestine (1-3 in 18-4A) is currently in fourth place in the league standings.
