It was an embarrassing start for Team USA as Serbia led 32-7 after the first quarter. Kings guard Bogdan Bogdanovic hit 4 3-pointers in the first 4 minutes of the game and finished with 28 points. Team USA only trailed by 3 points heading into the fourth quarter but it was all Serbia to close out the game 94-89. Team USA is guaranteed to finish no better than seventh place in the tournament. That is the worst they’ve ever done, eclipsing the 2002 World Championships where they came in sixth place.

In the other consolation game, the Czech Republic took down Poland 94-84. Bulls guard Tomas Satoransky had a double-double with 22 points and 12 assists. Satoransky leads the tournament in assists at 9 per game.
