#FeelGoodFriday: Larry Fitzgerald to wear cleats honoring Pat Tillman
For all but a select few sports fans, much of the news surrounding teams and players is far from good. Losses, injuries, playoff eliminations, suspensions, last-place fantasy football punishments, you name it.
So, we decided to put together something that can bring a smile to every sports fan’s face: Yahoo Sports’ #FeelGoodFriday Sports News!
Larry Fitzgerald to wear cleats honoring Pat Tillman
This Sunday, hundreds of NFL players will be wearing customized cleats dedicated to a cause they support as part of the league’s My Cause My Cleats.
Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald chose to pay homage to former Arizona All-Pro safety Pat Tillman, who was killed fighting for the US Army in Afghanistan. Cpl. Tillman walked away from a promising football career to serve his country.
“Every game day in Arizona, we remember Pat Tillman’s sacrifice,” Fitzgerald said. “His legacy lives on through the Pat Tillman Foundation.”
The foundation helps veterans and their families adjust to public life following their service.
Elsewhere in the NFL, Seahawks DE Quinton Jefferson will dedicate his cleats to Jordan McNair, the former Mayland offensive lineman who passed away in June after collapsing during a team workout. Jefferson played for the Terps as well.

And in addition, Rams CB Aquib Talib dedicated his cleats to his youth football leagues, customized by legendary shoe designer Kickstradomis as part of Yahoo Sports’ brand new series “Kickin’ It with Kickstradomis.”
Anaheim Ducks take their moms on road trip
It’s like pee-wee hockey all over again!
The Ducks showed even professional athletes like having their mothers travel with them. The team moms are with their sons on Anaheim’s ongoing 5-game road trip. After a 3-2 win over the Panthers on Wednesday, the players showed appreciation with their sticks.
Thank you for all your sacrifices to get our guys to this point.
Thank you for everything you continue to do.
Thank you for bringing us good luck!

One mom is particularly happy because the quality time with everyone helped her 29-year-old son make new friends!
“Carter (Rowney’s) new to the team,” his mother Tracy said. “It’s nice to (be able to) get to know everybody.”
49ers surprise veteran with free Super Bowl tickets
Lt. Gen. Rex McMillian recently retired from the military after almost 40 years of service. That in and among itself is some #FeelGoodFriday material.
But it got even better for the former Marines commander, who was expecting to receive only an autographed helmet. Instead, he was gifted tickets to the upcoming Super Bowl 53 in Atlanta.

Like a true warrior, he tried to put the helmet on first before being told to check inside. Unfortunately though, if he wants to suit up for the Super Bowl, it’ll have to be for a different team.
Ravens sign fan battling brain cancer to one-day contract
To cap off your Feel Good Friday, check out the newest member of the Baltimore Ravens, Frankie Collurafici. Despite having to fight brain cancer, he had absolutely no fear on the field, and was even the holder for some Justin Tucker field goals.
As he fights brain cancer, Frankie Collurafici’s wish was to be a Raven.
