Scott Gragson, the father of Xfinity Series driver Noah Gragson, was arrested for DUI after a fatal crash in a Las Vegas neighborhood on Thursday.

According to police, Gragson was traveling at a high rate of speed and a 36-year-old woman in the back seat was killed in the accident. She was one of three people in the back seat who were allegedly thrown from the vehicle after it hit trees because they were not wearing seat belts.

Gragson and a man in the front passenger seat of the SUV suffered minor injuries.

From the Las Vegas Review-Journal:

Gragson faces charges of DUI resulting in death, two counts of DUI resulting in significant bodily harm, and three counts of reckless driving resulting in death or significant bodily harm, according to Clark County Detention Center records.

The crash occurred when a 2015 Range Rover SVR traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Granite Ridge Drive failed to maintain control on a left curve south of Grey Feather Drive, according to a preliminary crash report released early Friday by Metro.

A 36-year-old woman died at the scene while a 50-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman suffered serious injuries.

Gragson is the grandson of former Las Vegas Mayor Oran Gragson and is an executive vice president for a large real estate firm.

Noah Gragson made his NASCAR Truck Series debut in 2016. After winning a race in each of the last two seasons, Gragson moved to the Xfinity Series with JR Motorsports in 2019. Gragson practiced his car Friday at Pocono ahead of the Xfinity Series race there on Saturday.
