It's been 50 years since the passing of Gil Hodges but his family is eternally grateful that the former Mets manager and Brooklyn Dodgers star was finally elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. His children all shared their memories, as did former Mets and Yankees manager Joe Torre, now a Special Assistant to the Commissioner. Hall of Fame President Josh Rawitch was thrilled to be able to give the Hodges' family the news upon his election and looks forward to a memorable induction weekend in July.
