Sports Home Falcons Twitter reacts to seventh-round selections
The Falcons had back-to-back picks in the seventh round to wrap up their 2023 NFL draft class. Atlanta first selected Alabama safety DeMarcco Hellams with pick No. 224, then added South Carolina center Jovaughn Gwyn with pick No. 225.
While we wouldn’t expect to see a whole lot of either player this season, each will provide some much-needed depth and special-teams ability. Here is how Falcons Twitter reacted to the team’s final two draft selections in Round 7.
Hellams provides plenty of grit in the secondary. More of a traditional safety at 6’1 and a little over 200 lbs. Short to intermediate level is where he will live. Will also cut his teeth on special teams but can add some physicality with his presence.
