Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson will practice Wednesday

The Atlanta Falcons could soon have their most electrifying player back. Running back Cordarrelle Patterson will practice on Wednesday for the first time since going on the injured reserve list in Week 5. This means Patterson has a 21-day practice window to return to the 53-man roster.

Patterson was a force through the first four weeks, rushing for 340 yards and three touchdowns on 5.9 yards per carry before undergoing a cleanup procedure on his knee.

Patterson’s return comes at the perfect time, following Sunday’s 37-34 win over the Panthers to take first place in the NFC South. In his absence, Atlanta got solid production from its trio of Tyler Allgeier, Caleb Huntley and Avery Williams.

Allgeier had a 25-yard touchdown reception in Week 8, while Huntley rushed for 91 yards on just 16 carries. If Patterson is good to go for Sunday’s game against the Chargers, the Falcons have a decent chance to move to 5-4 on the season.

Cornerback A.J. Terrell is still out, along with left guard Elijah Wilkinson. On the bright side, safety Jaylinn Hawkins is set to practice on Wednesday.
