When there's a school bake sale and there's no time to prepare, mums can go to pretty extreme lengths to get things done. Usually that's just disguising shop-bought fairy cakes as homemade, though.

But according to one social-media post that is getting a major reaction online, one mum took it way too far - by adding breast milk to the recipe.

The parenting Facebook page Sanctimommy posted a screengrab from what appears to be a mum's Facebook page, but with her identifying information blacked out. The post discusses her including breastmilk in her brownie recipe because she didn't have time to get actual cow's milk.

'I didn't have time to run to the store and didn't think it was a big deal,' she wrote. 'Some of those kids could use the nutrition, let's be honest. And it wasn't even that much.'

Then, the women wrote that 'one of the other moms found out and [is] blowing it way out of proportion'. The post then asks for advice for what to do next.

I shall forever remember today as the day I stopped supporting bake sales.

The Sanctimommy page administrator said they posted the image because of just how sanctimonious the 'nutrition' aspect was of the post. 'I shall forever remember today as the day I stopped supporting bake sales,' the administrator wrote.

Keep in mind, since this was blacked out, there's no way to check in with the mother in question to see what she thinks - or to verify if this is even real. (After all, a good deal of brownie recipes out there don't even require milk.)

But people ran with it, and more than 1,000 people have commented with exactly what they think. And the results were totally hilarious.

But in all seriousness, it's obviously not okay to sneak breast milk, which after all is a bodily fluid, into food without telling people first. Breast milk can carry infectious diseases like HIV, not to mention illegal or prescription drugs, according to the US FDA.

So even though there are cookbooks and companies that specialise in breast-milk food, that doesn't mean you can add some to a bake sale brownie without giving everyone a heads up about the risk. That's just awful - and could even be dangerous.
