'Extra focus' on defence before win at Wolves - Frank

While Ivan Toney's goal grabbed most of the headlines from Brentford's 2-0 win at Wolves on Saturday, it should also be noted that the Bees kept their first clean sheet since their Premier League success at Chelsea on 28 October.

After only a third victory in 12 league games, manager Thomas Frank said: "It's part of our mindset, character, culture and good ability to defend. A big part of the defensive bit hasn't been good enough and we raised the awareness level a little bit more.

"We have been conceding too many goals so it was a key area we were looking into. It had an extra focus this week and the final meeting was very simple: 'Clean sheet and we win'.

"In the first 30 minutes I thought there was one team on the pitch and in the second half it's natural, Wolves are a good team, we dropped too far back. We needed a win and sometimes the mental part of it does that."
