What the experts are predicting: Notre Dame vs. Pittsburgh

Notre Dame and Pittsburgh are familiar with each other as they’ve met many times before. They don’t play each other every year, but there is a lot of history with the rivalry. One could argue it’s the most underrated rivalry for the Irish. Everyone will be anxious to see what happens in the next chapter Saturday.

Here are some of the predictions out there for this game:

Ralph D. Russo, Associated Press

“Irish have won six of seven meetings and haven’t lost at home to Pitt since 2008.”

Notre Dame 34, Pittsburgh 17

David Kenyon, Bleacher Report

“Pitt conjured up its classic out-of-nowhere miracle to upset Louisville two weeks ago. Repeating the feat in South Bend would be quite the trick. Notre Dame’s defense should own the day.”

Notre Dame 38, Pittsburgh 13

Jackson Caudell, All Yellow Jackets

“Pitt had just pulled a big upset over Louisville and had to play a Wake Forest team that was down their top two quarterbacks. It looked like the Panthers would get another win, which was critical for their bowl hopes, but Wake won in the final seconds and crushed the Panthers’ chances. Notre Dame was off last week and when we last saw them, they were crushing USC. Fighting Irish win big because of their defense.”

Notre Dame 34, Pittsburgh 7
