Marvel’s upcoming She-Hulk series might be a comedy, but it’s still taking a moment to pay tribute to one of the greatest courtroom dramas of all time before its big release. In a Cosmopolitan exclusive, prepare to get a closer look at She-Hulk…but not before the series gives Law & Order a major shout-out that will *absolutely* get you more excited for Jennifer Walters’s story and everything else Marvel has up its sleeve.

She-Hulk’s a legal comedy like we’ve never done before,” series star Tatiana Maslany says in the clip. She-Hulk is the latest series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to introduce a whole new hero to the world. This time, it’s the Hulk/Bruce Banner’s cousin Jennifer who will get the chance to prove herself after she suddenly gets powers and has to balance superhero life with her career as a professional lawyer.

At the 2022 Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour, Tatiana opened up about how Jennifer’s new dual identity will affect her as she figures out if she wants to be a superhero (or not). “Jen has had her life planned out for her and has worked really hard to get to where she is as a lawyer. And to have this thing happen to her sort of derails everything and causes a bit of an identity crisis,” she said. “When she’s She-Hulk, she’s treated very differently than when she’s Jen. She has a conflict with that and is really at odds with how she wants to be perceived.”

Fans will certainly be excited to see glimpses of other ~mystery characters~ Jennifer will be representing as part of her firm’s new superhuman law division. But the biggest surprise might be Wong’s appearance when he’s seen telling someone to call his lawyer. Does this mean Wong is in trouble? What exactly landed him in court with Jennifer? We’re going to have to wait and see.

She-Hulk premieres September 18 on Disney+.
