One day into the 2023 MLB season, Hunter Renfroe may already have the Catch of the Year.

The former Boston Red Sox right fielder made his Los Angeles Angels debut Thursday in Oakland. In the fifth inning, he made a ridiculous grab that left two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani and everyone else in attendance in awe.

Renfroe took a bad route to the ball but somehow managed to reach over his left shoulder and make the catch without looking. The miraculous web gem robbed A's third baseman Jace Peterson of extra bases.

Renfroe spent the 2021 season in Boston, hitting .259 with 31 homers and 96 RBI. He led MLB in outfield assists that season with 16. After one year with the Red Sox, he was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers for Jackie Bradley Jr. and two prospects.
