Connor Joe, who started on Opening Day for the 2019 Giants before getting sent back to the Dodgers, announced on his Instagram page that he is undergoing treatment for testicular cancer. Joe wrote that he caught it early and had surgery on Tuesday.

Joe, 27, started in left field for the Giants in last year's opener and played eight games before he was designated for assignment. As a Rule 5 pick, he was sent back to the Dodgers, and he had another strong season in Triple-A.

Joe batted .300 in 105 games with a .426 on-base percentage and 15 homers. He was a non-roster invitee in Dodgers camp this spring but left a few weeks before camps were shut down by the spread of coronavirus.
