But speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, star Adeel Akhtar has teased that fans can also look forward a huge prom scene in the film, the filming of which saw almost 80,000 people turning up to take part.
Everybody's Talking About Jamie is based on the musical, which tells the story of Jamie Campbell, who lives in a council estate in Sheffield and overcomes prejudice to become a drag queen.
"Jamie is based on a real guy who wanted to go to his prom dressed in drag, but he's from Sheffield," Akhtar explained.
"Warp Films put a shout out to everybody [for the prom scene] and they were expecting maybe 10,000 people. I want to say that close to 80,000 people turned up on that street.
"It was the last scene on top of this limo in the prom dress driving through all these people from Sheffield just cheering and screaming him on."
"That summarises the experience of that film, for me," Akhtar continued.
"It's a film that maybe 5 or 10 years ago, people wouldn't be interested in, and to be a part of that crowd and to have a part in the film, it means so much. It's so great."
As well as Everybody's Talking About Jamie, Akhtar also stars alongside Millie Bobby Brown in Enola Holmes and the actor opened up to Digital Spy about what it was like to work with the Stranger Things star on the Netflix film.
"She's 16 years old, but around her is this massive film and massive production, and she just carries herself with such ease through it," he explained.
"It was amazing and it was just nice to be carried along. It's a weird feeling to be starstruck by somebody who's 16, that's a strange feeling."
Everybody's Talking About Jamie will be released in cinemas on January 22, 2021, while Enola Holmes is released on Netflix on September 23.
