Every Heisman Trophy winner from Big Ten schools since 1970

Over the history of the Big Ten’s current members, the conference can claim 11 total Heisman Memorial Trophy winners from 10 players.

Only Ohio State’s Archie Griffin has pulled it off twice. The Big Ten also has the only defensive player to win the award, Michigan’s Charles Woodson.

The list of winners is led by Ohio State (4), Nebraska (3), and Michigan (2). The last came in 2006 when Buckeyes’ quarterback Troy Smith claimed the prestigious award. It is certainly possible that another Buckeye passer could claim the Heisman 16 years later, C.J. Stroud is among the favorites heading into 2022.
