ESPN has two Notre Dame players predicted to be 1st round NFL Draft selections

Ahead of the season starting ESPN wanted to get one more mock draft out there, this one by Jordan Reid. Plenty will change between now and when players are actually selected, so it is interesting to see who stays as one of the best options, who falls and who rises. For Notre Dame, they seem to have at least two sure-fire draft eligible first-round selections. Find out where they were projected to go and with which pick.

Reid points out that the Titans might not need another tight end with Austin Hooper and Chigoziem Okonkwo, but “Mayer would add another dimension to an offense that relies on the position.” The comparison is a solid one, as Reid likens Mayer to former Baltimore Raven Todd Heap.

#20 Minnesota Vikings - EDGE Isaiah Foskey

Another spot where Reid projects the team will be selecting into a strength but he notes that the Vikings depth isn’t great after their top two options. He sees Foskey as an outside linebacker at the next level and “a playmaker, recording five forced fumbles last season.”
