Top-ranked Alabama is set to face off against No. 4 Cincinnati in the Cotton Bowl and No. 2 Michigan will play No. 3 Georgia in the Orange Bowl; both are College Football playoff semifinals, where the winners from each will go on to play for a national championship in Indianapolis.
ESPN football analyst and former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky joined First Take a few days ago to talk about the College Football Playoff field, and he made a prediction.
Orlovsky has Michigan to win it all.
While the Wolverines aren’t the favorites to win the whole thing, the reasoning behind his pick is a bit odd. He claims that he likes them to win because when he called two of their games, the program felt different when they were playing Western Michigan to open the season.
“I’m taking Michigan to win the whole thing,” Orlovsky said. “I’m doing it because of this. I called two Michigan games this season, one of which was the first game of the season. They played Western Michigan and I remember walking around after the game going, ‘That was a different Michigan feel than in years past.’ Jim Harbaugh infused so much young talent into that program. They have an unmistaken identity, and then their season kept getting better and better.”
