Eric Kiesau is set to be Auburn’s next receivers coach

In a turn of surprising events, Auburn will have a new wide receivers coach after just four games.

After Bryan Harsin fired Cornelius Williams on Sunday, Eric Kiesau is slated to take over, per On3. Harsin has a relationship with Kiesau from their time together at Boise State. He spent time as the receivers coach at Boise State and acted as the offensive coordinator last year under Harsin.

Kiesau has been an analyst on the Auburn Tigers staff this season and it appears that his new role will start immediately.

Kiesau earned some head coaching experience when he was the interim head coach at Fresno State in 2016.

Auburn’s wide receivers have drawn plenty of criticism as part of Auburn’s touch-and-go offense but many believed they improved from where they were in the spring.

This news comes after Auburn was only able to score one offensive touchdown against the Georgia State Panthers in the Tigers’ Homecoming game on Saturday.
