Ellie Bamber cheers on courtside at NBA game after Richard Madden 'split'

Ellie Bamber enjoyed a night out at the basketball in the wake of reports she has split from Bodyguard actor Richard Madden.

The 21-year-old actress was among a 20,000 strong crowd of premiere league footballers, singers and models at the NBA game at the O2 on Thursday.

Bamber took her seat courtside with a hotdog to watch the Washington Wizards come from 16 points behind to beat the New York Knicks 101-100.

Her appearance comes days after it was reported she has split from Madden, 32, after 18 months together.

Bamber is said to have prompted the break-up over fears they were “becoming worlds apart”.

“They’re both absolutely gutted but it was a decision made for the best,” a source told The Sun.

“They were arguing almost daily towards the end and, despite considering couples’ therapy, it became evident there were far too many issues that could not be fixed.

“But both Ellie and Richard hope to remain friends.”

Bamber was noticeably absent from the Golden Globes which saw Madden receive the Best Actor in a Drama TV Series gong for his role as troubled PC David Budd in BBC thriller, Bodyguard.

Bamber, who was in the BBC’s recent adaptation of Les Miserables, was joined courtside by stars including Jamie Redknapp, Mabel and Michael McIntyre at the sporting event.

Models Neelam Gill and Lara Stone were also in attendance alongside Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek and West Ham’s Michail Antonio.
