Ellendale beats South Border 63-51 in District 1 tourney

Feb. 23—JAMESTOWN — The Ellendale Cardinals pulled away late to advance to the second round in a 63-51 win over South Border in the District 1 tournament on Friday, Feb. 23, at the Jamestown Civic Center.

The final game of the day started incredibly competitive as the teams were tied at 11 early. The Cardinals went on a run from there to take a 17-11 lead. The Mustangs stole some momentum heading into the second quarter as Levi Buchholz hit a layup at the buzzer to cut his team's deficit down to 17-13.
