Renown fighting game player Justin Wong is considering quitting his current job at Nvidia and moving to Southern California to be closer to the Echo Fox studios.
Wong discussed his thoughts on moving in a recent interview with Yahoo Esports. When asked if he will leave his job, he responded, “It’s possible. I’m actually thinking about it… I’m not going to lie. I’ve been really close to making that decision because [of] how much support I’ve been getting from Echo Fox and the potential future of fighting games in esports…If I quit my job I would actually move back to SoCal, because that’s where the Echo Fox studios is. So I would just love to work with them more closely. Have much better personal relationships like I have with [Antonio Javier.]”
He also believes the move would benefit him by granting more regular access to strong players in the FGC.
“There’s a lot of strong players in SoCal too, and I want to say that SoCal is better than NorCal. I am a fair believer that it is a much better environment to play, and I just like SoCal better,” Wong said.
Justin Wong only recently signed to esports team Echo Fox. He is one of multiple names to be acquired by the team as it makes a huge move into the FGC, joined by Hajime “Tokido” Taniguchi, Yusuke Momochi, and Yuko “ChocoBlanka” Momochi, Mortal Kombat X players Dominique “SonicFox” MacLean and Brad “Scar” Vaughn, Super Smash Bros. Wii U player Leonardo “MKLeo” Lopez Perez, and former Evil Geniuses FGC manager Antonio Javier.
