East Windsor police answer burglar alarm, find fire; damage limited
Dec. 31—EAST WINDSOR — Police responding to what they believed was a burglar alarm Friday found smoke coming from an industrial building at 3 Shoham Road, and Warehouse Point firefighters promptly extinguished the blaze, said James Barton, the fire department's chief.
The fire occurred in Building 3 at 3 Shoham Road in East Windsor.
Barton said the fire was under control within 20 minutes, after which responders engaged in extensive overhaul due recycled materials affected by the fire.
All emergency personnel were gone from the scene by 9 p.m. Friday.
The fire caused no injuries, and there was only minor smoke and fire damage to the interior of the building, Barton said.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation by the fire marshal's office Friday evening.
