Andy looks ahead with some valuable fantasy football additions for Week 12.
ANDY BEHRENS: All right, this will serve as final call on Cam Newton. What are we doing here? He's only rostered in 51% of Yahoo leagues. You know what you're dealing with. This is one of the elite dual threat quarterbacks, certainly of this era, really of all time.
Cam Newton, in his first start in this second Newton era for the Carolina Panthers, all he does is combine for 3 touchdowns, 2 through the air, 1 on the ground. He's great. You knew he was great. He just joined the team. It only gets better from here.
Obviously, he took advantage of a friendly match-up against Washington. Many of us added him as a last-second pivot because we had Lamar Jackson, who couldn't go in week 11. Cam absolutely needs to be rostered in something close to 100% of Yahoo leagues. He can clearly finish, from this point forward, as a top 12 fantasy quarterback.
A couple of other names I'll throw out there, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, over 120 receiving yards, a long touchdown, 10 targets from Aaron Rodgers in week 11. He leads the NFL right now in intended air yards per target. So he's getting high-yield opportunities in a great offense.
Also Van Jefferson going to be coming off a bye to a significant role for the Rams. This also an elite offense and a player who's seen at least 6 targets in 4 straight games.
