Eagles players salute crowd in nod to military on Veterans Day
The NFL catches a lot of heat from those convinced that player protests during the national anthem are anti-military (hint: they’re not).
The Philadelphia Eagles have been one of the prime teams in the crosshairs of critics thanks to visible protests from players during their Super Bowl run and having their invitation to the White House rescinded by President Donald Trump.
Eagles give nod to military on TD play
Eagles players made an in-game gesture to the military on Sunday when Zach Ertz caught a touchdown pass from Carson Wentz in their loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
After Ertz came down with the score, several Eagles lined up in the back of the end zone and gave a military salute directed toward the crowd.
It wasn’t a huge effort, put it was a nice nod to the military on Veteran’s Day from a team that’s wrongly found itself on the end of heated criticism.
