Eagles players, fans troll booing Vikings fans at Super Bowl media day in 'land full of salt'
The Philadelphia Eagles laid a 38-7 beatdown on the Minnesota Vikings last week in the NFC championship. This is not news.
What is news is the Philadelphia Eagles arriving in Minnesota on Monday night to participate in Super Bowl media day, rebranded as “Opening Night,” along with the New England Patriots.
The Vikings were not in attendance. Vikings fans, however, were there. And they were clearly salty over their team’s poor showing in last Sunday’s game.
Apparently finding nobody else to blame and nothing better to do on a Monday night, said Vikings fans took their resentment out on the Eagles at every turn, booing them relentlessly.
Like when the Eagles were officially introduced on stage.
The #Eagles were just introduced to LOUD boos from the bitter #Vikings fans in attendance. Most of the guys were filming with their own phones. Didn’t see that from #Patriots #SBOpeningNight #SuperBowl @6abc pic.twitter.com/y89cwtFw7V

While crass and a little sad, the Vikings fans who chose to show up at media day despite the lack of Vikings, there was some upside to the bitter Minnesotans.
Their anger gave this small contingent of Eagles fans in the crowd a chance to show off their sarcasm. And they did it well with this clever take on the Vikings’ “Skol” chant, a revisited classic from last week’s game.
Eagles fans at #SBOpeningNight have their own version of the skol chant!

Perhaps nobody had a better response than Eagles center Jason Kelce who thanked the residents of the “land full of salt” for their warm welcome in an interview with teammate Beau Allen for Philadelphia’s ABC 6.
