A day after entering health and safety protocols, Dwane Casey is back.

Casey cleared protocols on Monday after registering two negative tests, the Detroit Pistons announced Tuesday. The organization believes Casey's original test was a false positive. He has rejoined the team in Chicago ahead of their Tuesday night game against the Bulls.

Casey, who has been a vocal proponent of vaccinating and mask-wearing, was the 14th NBA head coach to enter protocols this season as the league continues to handle an omicron surge. He revealed last season he initially caught COVID-19 in March of 2020, around the same time former Pistons big man Christian Wood became one of the NBA's first players to test positive.
