Devin Duvernay lucked into one of the best quarterback situations in the NFL when the Ravens selected him in the third round of this years NFL Draft.
And like most rookies, the excitement of playing with quarterback Lamar Jackson has been notable.
He has a real live arm, Duvernay said Tuesday. He has a strong arm, puts a lot of zip on the ball. Very catchable. Its great to be able to play with him, never wouldve thought Id be playing with a guy like this. But Im super excited for the future.
Duvernay played at Texas in college and is expected to make some impact early in the season, despite the lack of a preseason. He said hell get his chances returning punts, in addition to his offensive duties.
I feel like thats being determined as we speak, hes earning more and more every day, coach John Harbaugh said. Hes done a really good job. Hes a hard worker. He doesnt say a lot, but he works a lot. I think hes going to have a role.
Duvernay broke out in his final season at Texas and had 106 catches for 1,386 yards and nine touchdowns. And now, hell have the NFLs reigning MVP throwing him passes.
