The Arizona Diamondbacks continue their series against the Giants tonight in San Francisco. Following last night’s win, the Dbacks sit five games behind the Giants. Can Arizona shrink that number before this series concludes? At the very least it is imperative it does not grow if Arizona is to have any hope of earning a Wild Card position this season. The Diamondbacks send veteran Dallas Keuchel to the hill. He will be opposed by San Fran’s Logan Webb.

The Houston Astros are in SoCal tonight to take on the LA Angels of Anaheim. Noah Syndergaard is back on the mound for the Angels. The problem has been opposing hitters appear to be using Thor’s Hammer. The one-time flamethrower has yet to find his way consistently in 2022. Houston is sending Luis Garcia to the mound as the Astros look to further extend an already exorbitant lead out West.

Tonight, EDGE MLB analysts have done a deep dive into the odds markets for these MLB games. They have found two plays from each. They are going head-to-head in a duel of sorts to see which game and team can produce a bigger payday.

The EDGE team of MLB analysts have paired up as follows: John Venezia (@_JohnnyVTV) and Vaughn Dalzell (@VmoneySports) have joined forces for Parlay #1 and DJ Short (@djshort) and Drew Silva (@drewsilv) have combined efforts for Parlay #2.

Last week, Vaughn Dalzell was away on assignment. Kenny Ducey stepped in and the team did not skip a beat. The team of Venezia and Ducey cashed their parlay ticket. Time for Silva and Short to do the same and get back in the win column this week.

As mentioned, enjoy the plays individually or as parlays…with a boost courtesy of PointsBet.

Parlay #1:

Arizona Diamondbacks @ San Francisco Giants -1.5 (+100)

and

Giants’ Pitcher Logan Webb OVER 4.5 Strikeouts (-280)

Parlay Boosted from +165 to +195 courtesy of PointsBet.

John Venezia (@_JohnnyVTV) and Vaughn Dalzell (@VmoneySports)

The Logan Webb at home lock may have lost a bit of its luster (and value), but it is still a worthy endeavor at the right price. While the Giants are 21-4 in his last 25 home starts, they have also managed to go 15-10 on the run line, both very profitable. Though Arizona has given up SF some problems in 2022, they trot out the now washed-up Dallas Keuchel and his 7.63 ERA. San Fran has had more success against lefties than righties this year.

The Giants’ ace has been a stud at home over the regular season since 2021 and I do not expect that to change versus the DBacks. Webb owns a 2.63 ERA at home mixed with a better strikeout per inning average (0.90) than on the road (0.76) this season. If Webb goes 5-6 innings, he should have 5-plus strikeouts, something the star pitcher has done in four of the previous five starts.

Parlay #2

Houston Astros ML (-125) @ LA Angels of Anaheim

and

Astros’ Pitcher Luis Garcia OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (-180)

Parlay Boosted from +170 to +200 courtesy of PointsBet.

DJ Short (@djshort) and Drew Silva (@drewsilv):

The AL West-leading Astros are red-hot, and the Angels are a sinking ship, so this feels like an easy play out in Anaheim on Tuesday night. Noah Syndergaard has enjoyed a decent enough bounceback year and will probably be a popular name in the leadup to the August 2nd trade deadline, but he does not miss bats like he used to in his prime. Houston has the fourth-best combined OPS (.758) of all 30 major league teams versus right-handed pitching.

Garcia gave up five runs in his last start, but he still managed to strike out seven batters and he has now reached at least six strikeouts in four out of his last five trips to the hill. The Angels own the highest strikeout rate in the majors this season (26.3 percent) and have actually whiffed in a ghastly 32.5 percent of their plate appearances over the past two weeks. I like Garcia's chances here.

Again, play these individually or as parlays with a Boost from PointsBet.

Enjoy the night in baseball and enjoy the Late Sweat Duel.
