Trevor Zegras is at it again.

After making headlines with what many considered to be one of the best assists of all time, Zegras pulled another Michigan trick out of his back on Thursday night.

With the Anaheim Ducks holding a 3-1 lead against the Montreal Canadiens in the second period, Zegras took the puck behind the Habs net and pulled off The Michigan on Sam Montembeault, this time for a goal instead of an assist.

The forward added one more, finishing the night with two goals in the Ducks' 5-4 win.

Of course, this isn't the first time Zegras has pulled off The Michigan this season. The rookie became an internet sensation after this assist to Sonny Milano in a December game against the Buffalo Sabres.

While that play is very hard to top, the 20-year-old now has another highlight reel to his collection this season.

Though he was drafted high in the first round of the 2019 draft, Zegras really began garnering attention thanks to his outstanding play at the 2021 World Junior Championships, where he recorded 18 points in just seven games for Team USA. It was clear at the time just how special he was, and hockey fans everywhere grew excited to see what he could do for the Ducks in the future. He certainly hasn’t disappointed early on.

Not only is Zegras in contention for the Calder Trophy, he has posted numerous highlight reel clips already this season. What makes him so special is that he has an extremely high confidence level, one that allows him to try creative and never-before-seen plays.

This is a play we are starting to see more and more, but few have pulled it off at the NHL level. Unfortunately, fans were not in attendance to see this highlight-reel goal, but you can bet there will be plenty more jaw-dropping plays from Zegras in what promises to be an outstanding career.

With half the 2021-22 season still remaining, it wouldn’t be a major surprise to see more of this from him between now and the playoffs.
