Draymond reveals perfect advice he'd give to his rookie self originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea

Draymond Green went from second-round pick to NBA star, and he did it his way.

When the Warriors drafted Green with the No. 35 overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, many doubted whether or not the Michigan State forward would be able to stick in the league. Nine seasons later, Green is a three-time NBA champion, three-time All-Star, five-time All Defense selection, won the 2016-17 Defensive Player of the Year Award and is ticketed for the Hall of Fame.

So, what would Green tell his rookie self if he could go back in time and impart some pearls of wisdom on him?

"Do it exactly the way you did it," Green told Bleacher Report's Taylor Rooks.

Why do it different when what you did worked?

Green proved all of his doubters wrong and helped transform the Warriors from an NBA punchline into one of the most feared teams in history.

While Green had an incredible start to his NBA career, the 31-year-old still has a lot left in the tank and surely will be motivated by losing out on this year's DPOY to Rudy Gobert.

But Green, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson are focused on bigger things than individual accolades: Getting back to the top of the NBA and showing everyone that rumors of their demise were indeed exaggerated.
