The trade deadline is now in the rearview mirror and on we go to the finish of the NHL schedule.

It’s nine days longer than originally slated due to rescheduling of COVID postponements (along with one big snowstorm in Dallas) but next season will hopefully get back to normal as the league has tentatively announced an October 12 start date.

Normalcy would be nice.

He celebrated with an assist and a fight.

Dubnyk looked good in a 4-3 win over the Blues Wednesday, stopping 31 St. Louis shots.

Mike Hoffman was a healthy scratch for two straight games last week and it must have had quite the effect on him as he has had two goals in each of the last two games since the benching as well as an assist Wednesday...The Blues need him to keep producing, especially in the post-season...The Blues have Brayden Schenn between Jaden Schwartz and Vladimir Tarasenko while Ryan O'Reilly is centering David Perron and Sammy Blais as their top two lines.

TAMPA BAY

He will play the rest of the season for the Marlies once he gets his visa and quarantine out of the way but is expected to play in the KHL again next season with Ufa.

Miller opined that the Canucks were not given enough time to get ready and the NHL obviously listened in postponing the Oilers game as of this writing.

The Golden Knights added Mattias Janmark from Chicago along with a third-rounder in 2022 for a second-round pick in 2021 and a fifth rounder in 2022...Vegas will likely play the speedy Janmark with the even speedier Alex Tuch to give the Golden Knights a very tough third line to go against the rest of the way...They also picked up minor leaguer Nick DeSimone giving up a fourth-round pick...Janmark had an assist in his Vegas debut Thursday...Max Pacioretty has been hot of late with three goals and seven points in his last six games, giving him 21 goals and 40 points in 42 games...He is headed for his best season on a points-per-game average...The Golden Knights have won four in a row and are in second place in the West, four points behind Colorado with a game in hand.

The Capitals made a huge splash right at the deadline as Washington picked up Anthony Mantha from Detroit for Jakub Vrana, Richard Panik, a first-round selection in 2021 and a fourth-rounder in 2022...They dealt Jonas Siegenthaler to New Jersey for a third-rounder in 2021 and gave Philadelphia a fifth-rounder in 2021 for Michael Raffl...Mantha has been playing with Nicklas Backstrom and T.J. Oshie while Raffl did not make it into the lineup Tuesday or Thursday...Mantha has two goals and an assist in two games with the Caps and has goals in three straight games...Ilya Samsonov is day-to-day with an upper-body injury...Conor Sheary inked a two-year extension worth $3 million.

He has been hot of late with five goals in his last five games and nine points in his last six as he has a six-game points streak...Mark Scheifele leads the Jets with 52 points...There is no update on Bryan Little who has missed the entire season after team doctors stated in October that he should sit out the year...Blake Wheeler is still out of action and in concussion protocol but he has been skating and could return this week.
