For the record, Cleveland Cavs coach J.B. Bickerstaff agreed with star player Donovan Mitchell about his place on recent All-NBA team announcement.

Mitchell received second-team honors and promptly disagreed with the decision in a tweet.

"I just felt I should have been first team," Mitchell said on the “Sideline Stroll with Ros” hosted by Ros Gold-Onwude. "That's one of my goals for next year is to be first team, and I felt like I was good enough, but obviously the media members did not, so."

Not surprisingly, Bickerstaff has his back. He said Mitchell should have made the first team on the Fan Duel TV morning show “Run It Back.”

“Look at what he did throughout the season and how it impacted winning,” Bickerstaff said. “And I think that's the thing is there were what, six or seven teams at, won 50 games this season and we were one of them. And obviously a lot of that had to do with Donovan and his performance.”

Bickerstaff took note of Mitchell’s game improving in Cleveland.

The guy had a 70-point game, 71-point game, we were down 20 at half and he figured out a way to kind of will us to victory,” he said. “So, it's not like he was putting up empty numbers, he was putting up impactful numbers that led to winning at a high clip.”

Mitchell averaged 28.3 points per game in his first season with the Cavs. He raised his average from 25.9 points per game in his last season with the Utah Jazz.
